The collaboration established with the Groupe SEFAC in Cameroon, in the Congo Basin, one of the most critical areas of the planet, has extended and strengthened the responsibility and commitment of Vasto Legno regard to the social, environmental and ethical issues, recommended by the context.
In line with the already started path on the issue of proper forest management, VASTO LEGNO has launched a partnership with WWF Italia focused on conservation of forest resources, which will see the jointed promotion of research and information platforms developed for the International Year of Forests 2011.

The support of companies in the conservation program of WWF’s Forests and business involvement in programs to improve the procurement policies for forest products, are the two areas of possible activities for the protection of forest ecosystems and the species they host.

O.L.B. Certification
For twenty years the problems of illegal timber has been a focus point for wood suppling policies, for both the private and the public Since 2000, government and intergovernmental organizations agreed to consider this threat very serious by imposing strict measures to remedy not appropriate practices.
The O.L.B. System (Origin and Legality of Wood) was developed by Bureau Veritas Certification in 2004, following requests from customers wishing to obtain an official certificate and third party regarding the legality of their timber.
